Imperial Honey Porter (10.0%) [IBU 34]

This is the barrel-aged version of our collaboration with Apis Meadery, which we brewed in September 2016. The beer has spent the past 6 months in Wild Turkey Bourbon barrels, where it picked up some oak and a moderate amount of bourbon flavor. It also gained nearly a point in ABV, by our estimation, due to evaporation. There is a dark fruity-sweet quality from the malt and honey, but it is balanced by the wood and the alcohol. It should age well for several years for those who choose to hang onto a bottle
