Bringing You Glad Tidings and a Killer New Menu!

Bringing You Glad Tidings and a Killer New Menu!

That special time of year is upon us, friends. Before we know it, the ground will be covered with a blank white canvas of snow. Friends and family will gather around the table and share a home-cooked meal of turkey and all the fixings. Football will glow on TV sets as people slip in and out of tryptophan-induced comas. Stores will be overrun with folks looking to bust doors and elbow drop their fellow man in the name of low-cost bath towels. Santa Claus will exude awkward levels of pretentiousness as he hocks high-end automobiles with ridiculous red bows. And those pesky little twinkle lights, try as you might, just won’t twinkle.

Boy, that spiraled downward quickly, didn’t it?

As much as we love the holidays here at Spoonwood, we know this can be a stressful time of year as well. Decorations, shopping, cooking, shoveling snow, and all the regular rigors of life can sometimes make us forget about the true meaning of the season. Fortunately, we’ve got the ultimate recipe to ensure you make it to 2016 with your sanity in tact:

Beer. And food.

The overall hustle and bustle of the holiday season is inevitable and unavoidable, so we took it upon ourselves to add some levity to your world by keeping our draft selections abundant and our food menu fresh. We take great pride in presenting you with the highest-quality craft beer, most enticing entrees, and most memorable taproom experience each and every time you visit. We take our mantra of “Brew. Taste. Gather.” seriously and invite you to avoid the holiday slump with us and our incredible new food menu!

Take a look at what’s new:

SMALL PLATES

If you’re after a quick bite and a cold draft beer, we boldly recommend our Brew BBQ Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp. Have you ever read so much awesomeness in one little food descriptor?! This tasty plate features jumbo shrimp wrapped in Applewood smoked bacon and slathered in our unique house-brew sweet BBQ sauce and Calabrian chili oil, served over locally-sourced spicy pepper slaw. Pair this with The Stache Red Rye and it’ll feel like there’s a Christmas party on your palate and everyone’s invited. Except Cousin Eddie…

SALADS

New to the salad section is our tasty Beet Salad. This little number is made of roasted local beets, fava beans, roasted carrots, micro greens, goat cheese, and vincotto. Pairs wonderfully with Astrid, our Belgian Pale Ale, or Blithe, our Belgian Strong Golden Ale.

AUTHOR’S NOTE: Everything is better with goat cheese. Try it on Christmas cookies this holiday season.

PIZZA

Fewer things in life go together better than beer and pizza. At Spoonwood, we like to take things to another level by pairing craft beer with gourmet wood-fired pizza. If you’ve visited us before, you’ve undoubtedly seen magic leaving our wood-fired oven, with several gourmet pizzas cooked to perfection gracing tables throughout the taproom.

We’ve added a new pie to the menu this go-round to appeal to those who love the treat, but hate the meat. This pizza, go figure, has been dubbed the No Meat Treat and will tug at the heartstrings of any veggie lover. And meat lover, too. It consists of roasted eggplant caponata and cauliflower, charred red onions, house-made mozzarella, shaved parmesan, cracked black pepper and olive oil drizzle. Pair it with our Killer Diller IPA or Good Eye Sniper Double IPA and, well, the only thing better would be A Christmas Story on a loop. Thank you, TBS.

FULL PLATES

Come hungry, leave happy. These full plates are what living’s all about! Our insane, fall-off-the-bone Pork Wings are back, as is our Puff Chicken Pie and Fish Tacos (now made with mahi-mahi). But, the star on top of the Christmas tree is our new Meat and Marrow feature.

What pairs well with steak? How about E-VER-Y-THING! Jeffrey Simpson, our talented Executive Chef, has gone out of his way to bring you a plate fit for a king or queen. If there’s food that can make you forget about that pile of gifts you have to wrap, you’re looking at it (pictured below). A 12oz dry-aged bone-in Ribeye steak with roasted garlic crumb bone marrow, greens, and charred lime compound butter. Pair this mouth-watering entree with our Blackmore IPA or Witchtripper Porter.

The Grinch can have the Roast Beast. All the Whos in Who-ville will be crushing Meat and Marrow this holiday season.
